Merienke has worked as an employment lawyer since 2000. She has worked at Delissen Martens in the employment law section since 2006. Employers can turn to her for legal issues in all areas of employment law.

Expertise

She specialises in employment law and mainly assists employers. Merienke assists employers in reorganisations, harmonisations and collective labour agreement processes, among other things. She has also set up works councils and conducted advisory and consent processes on several occasions. Naturally, Merienke is also involved in drafting employment contracts, settlement agreements and assignment agreements. In addition, she advises and litigates in individual cases concerning, for instance, dysfunction, illness, a disturbed relationship or a non-competition clause.
As a lawyer, Merienke is decisive. ‘I pick up cases quickly and keep going until I achieve a positive end result,’ she says. In addition, she is a creative thinker. "I look at cases more broadly than just the facts presented. In doing so, I also explore non-obvious solutions."


Her approach

As a lawyer, Merienke also stands out in her approach. Her proactive attitude and sharp legal knowledge make Merienke the ideal cooperation partner for entrepreneurs. She thinks along in strategic policy and unburdens her clients wherever possible. "I not only respond to questions, but also try to take up cases on my own initiative and share knowledge. In addition, I often come up with solutions the client hadn't thought of before." In doing so, she takes a personal approach. ‘My clients’ interests always come first'

Intervision & mediation

Merienke also acts as an intervision discussion leader. She is included in the ‘Register intervision discussion leader’ of the Netherlands Bar Association. She has also gained experience in mediations, which skills she can put to good use in employment law practice. "My experience as a discussion leader and mediator enables me to listen well, ask the right questions and take good account of the client's emotions. Partly because of this, I quickly get to the heart of the problem."
